‘Imposters’ Star Parker Young’s Workout

Today’s stars are under pressure to not only deliver lines with Academy Award-level bravado, they’ve got to look like action figures and perform like athletes. But for Parker Young, star of Bravo’s series Imposters, he’d rather stay fit with exercises that don’t feel like exercises at all.

Of course, strength training is still a part of his weekly regimen. “Pushing weights around—that’s a big part of what I do to stay fit, especially for strength and aesthetics,” says Young.

Young’s trying to strike that healthy fitness balance. At the moment, it’s with slacklining. “You just shut your mind off and stop trying to force it—just kind of relax into it and listen to your body,” Young says. “It’s a cool little workout.”

But for the most part, it’s difficult for him to specify a concrete workout from week to week. Change and evolution drive his fitness.

“Fixed routines get stale and lead to complacency and comfortability, neither of which breed growth or progress.” It’s a philosophy we can get behind. For Young, getting and staying shredded means some weeks he’s in the gym and others he focuses on more athletic movements, such as tennis, basketball, rock climbing, martial arts, pilates, or yoga. Here’s a sample strength-training routine of Young’s you can follow.
